What clinic operators look for.
- Continuous duty cycle — back-to-back sessions across a working day without thermal shutoff.
- Multi-user capacity — manifold output to two or more cannulas simultaneously.
- Certification documentation — printable FCC, CE, RoHS and ISO 13485 certificates to show clients on request.
- Service support — direct local warranty and a known consumable supply chain (cannulas, distilled water, replacement stacks).
Single-user vs multi-user machines.
Personal units (600–1,800 ml/min) are designed for one user at a time. Professional units (3,000–8,400 ml/min) include continuous-duty cooling, manifold outputs for concurrent users, and the build quality required for the higher operating hours of a clinical environment. A clinic running more than two or three sessions per day should not rely on a personal-grade unit.
Certifications required for clinical environments.
- ISO 13485 — quality-management system for manufacturers operating in regulated production environments. Indicates engineering rigour at the factory.
- FCC Part 15 Subpart B — electromagnetic emissions standard. Important in clinics with other sensitive equipment.
- CE — European safety conformity. The minimum independent safety assessment for any clinical electrical equipment.
- RoHS — restriction of hazardous substances in electronics.
